60th Anniversary of Jagadguruttam Diwas
10 – 14 January 2017, Prem Mandir, Vrindavan
Sixty years ago on the 14th of January in 1957 Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, at only 34 years of age, was endowed with the title of ‘Jagadguruttam’ (Supreme amongst all preceding Jagadgurus) by Kashi Vidvat Parishat. Before him, only four divine personalities had been honoured with the title of original Jagadguru: Jagadguru Shankaracharya, Jagadguru Ramanujacharya, Jagadguru Nimbarkacharya and Jagadguru Madhvacharya.
For over 60 years, Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj gave the world a vast amount of spiritual treasures through his literature and discourses (with over a hundred publications, thousands of digitally recorded lectures and over 10,000 originally composed couplets), His philanthropic endeavors and the astounding monuments built under His guidance.
His philanthropic objectives and activities have been a staple of Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat’s mission. Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat was established by him as an international, non-profit, charitable and educational organisation. Since his earliest recorded philanthropic activities in 1992, hundreds of thousands have benefitted from his benevolence through distribution of food, warm clothing, blankets and daily necessities, and through medical care in the form of blood drives, polio vaccinations, cataract surgeries and medication. Furthermore, almost 5.30 crores have been promptly given to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund and other Relief Funds at times of national disasters. With Shri Maharaj Ji’s limitless grace, these efforts are continuing to this day.
Since their inception, the three charitable hospitals (Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya – Mangarh, Barsana and Vrindavan) inspired by Shri Maharaj Ji have helped over 2.5 million patients in some of the poorest parts of India get much needed care. Many have benefited through the eye camps and heart camps which have improved and saved thousands of lives. All three hospitals serve approximately 1600 patients daily.
The three schools Shri Maharaj Ji has built (Kripalu Balika Primary School, Kripalu Balika Intermediate College and Kripalu Mahila Mahavidyalay) are providing free education to girls whose parents would otherwise not be able to afford their schooling. All the necessities are provided to the girls, including uniforms, bicycles, books, book bags and meals to help them succeed in their education. Thousands of underprivileged girls have been educated since 1978, giving them many opportunities for a much better life.
Shri Maharaj Ji has gifted to the world the uniquely designed and divinely inspired monuments – Prem Mandir and Bhakti Mandir, both stunning pieces of architecture. People from all over the world visit these great temples, finding great joy and peace from their experiences.
Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat will be commemorating the 60th Anniversary of Jagadguruttam Diwas from the 10th till the 14thof January, 2017.
To commemorate this special occasion, a Sadhana Shivir and many other special events have been planned. Charitable distributions and donations will be given to disadvantaged children and others on this occasion.
Many dignitaries will be visiting and giving speeches. Renowned lecturers of Vedic philosophy will be speaking also. They will share the astounding truth of who Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj is and what his divine purpose was.
